Collaborating & Co-Managing

For conditions that require surgical intervention or specialized treatment, we provide co-management services for continuity of care. We work closely with top specialists and surgeons, coordinating your care every step of the way.

This collaborative approach helps you receive the treatment you need while remaining under the care of a trusted team who knows your eye health history.

A Thorough Diagnostic Approach

The first step in the diagnostic process is a comprehensive eye exam. During your eye exam, we go through a detailed assessment of your vision and eye health which can include various tests through different tools and technology.

Early detection is key! Our diagnostic technology allows us to get the full picture of your eye health before moving ahead with recommendations and treatment options.

ZEISS Fundus Photography

Fundus photography captures ultra-widefield images of your retina, revealing details often missed by traditional methods.

By detecting early signs of conditions like macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, we can catch potential issues early and act quickly to protect your vision.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) provides high-resolution, cross-sectional images of the retina and optic nerve. This noninvasive imaging technique provides detailed views of the retinal layers, helping us identify early signs of conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

By assessing the thickness and structure of the retina, we can detect subtle changes that may not be visible through other examination methods, allowing for early treatment.

Our visual field analyzer assesses your peripheral vision and detects any areas of vision loss. This test is crucial for diagnosing and managing conditions such as glaucoma, where peripheral vision loss often occurs before central vision is affected.

By mapping out your visual field, we can monitor changes over time and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans.

Other diagnostic technologies we offer include:

  • iCare tonometer: which measures intraocular pressure (IOP) to screen for glaucoma.
  • Corneal topography: this creates a detailed map of your cornea, helping us diagnose conditions like astigmatism, keratoconus, and dry eye. It also plays a crucial role in fitting contact lenses for optimal comfort and vision.
  • Meibomian gland imaging helps us better understand the health of your meibomian glands, which are essential for tear production. We employ specialized imaging to assess their function and identify potential blockages contributing to dry eyes.

Comprehensive Management of Eye Diseases

Our team is experienced in diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye diseases, but it all starts with regular eye exams and patient education. Eye diseases and other conditions can affect your eye health and vision in various ways, with different symptoms and causes.

That’s why we work together with our patients to answer any questions or concerns they may have about the early signs and warnings of different eye diseases and conditions.

Early detection and management can make a massive difference in protecting your long-term visual health.

Cataracts

Cataracts are a clouding of the natural lens of the eye, causing blurry vision, faded colors, and difficulty seeing at night. Cataract surgery is a safe and common procedure to replace the clouded lens with a clear artificial lens, restoring vision.

While cataracts are a natural part of aging, certain lifestyle factors like smoking and excessive sun exposure can increase the risk of developing them earlier.

If you need cataract surgery, we offer co-managing services and are with you every step of the way, from diagnosis through surgery and post-op care.

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve, potentially leading to vision loss if left untreated. Regular eye exams are important for early detection and management of glaucoma.

Treatment can often involve prescription eye drops to control eye pressure. High intraocular pressure (IOP) can be a risk factor for glaucoma.

Early detection is essential, as glaucoma can progress gradually without noticeable symptoms until later stages. There are different types of glaucoma, but most of them develop without noticeable symptoms and can lead to permanent vision loss if not caught and managed.

We offer diagnostic technology like visual field testing to monitor and manage glaucoma.

Diabetes can damage blood vessels in the retina, leading to a variety of vision problems, including diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema.

Regular eye exams are important for people with diabetes to monitor their eye health and prevent vision loss. We work closely with your primary care physician to help with comprehensive diabetic care and managing your eye health in conjunction with your overall diabetes management plan.

We offer OCT and fundus photography to help detect and manage diabetic eye disease.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of vision loss in adults—AMD affects the macula, the central part of the retina responsible for sharp central vision needed for tasks like reading, driving, and recognizing faces.

Early detection and treatment with medications or injections can help manage AMD and preserve vision. We recommend regular eye exams, especially for individuals with a family history of AMD or those over the age of 50.
